Have run a stock 16hp CV16 with the governor removed. Pretty amazing power for 426cc. I think Smartspark which give a reasonable advance curve makes a big difference. I'm sure a billet flywheel would help as well.

With the engine stock, and governer removed, did you gear it low? And if so how does it like it?

I ran a 6/4 an 12/13 to 46/48/50. That was with a billet flywheel.

It was geared reasonably high which meant it was slow off corners. It would probably benefit from a billet flywheel. Midrange power seemed real good.They don't like being revved hard though  possibly due to hydraulic lifters.
