Hay bale covers/bags who makes them ?????
« on: January 24, 2012, 01:04:09 pm »
I brought this up a while ago and I have yet to find someone that makes plastic bags big enough to put a standard hay bale in and seal it up.I can't find any through home depots site.....looking for those giant "contractor bags" which I have seen before on worksites.......??????

Try looking into what the motorcycle (mx) racers are using....that may help?

I have been known to cover a hay bale with my mower from time to time..

The 55 gal size no workie with a square bale been there..THANKS !......I have seen some HUGE clear bags that are used but no one seems to know where they come from. Somebody has to have them for cheap...... a normal secure/safe track uses 80-100 bales. If we could find these they would benefit all !!!!

Thanks guys keep it up :)

Why, You going to put one on  your head? HA. HA. Can you give more details about the Placerville race? I want to make sure you have enough mowers.

first flash yehaaa ! Thats exactly what I was looking for.A few reasons for bags, protect the bales, looks better, plus if you do it right you can sell hay bales for sponsership money with a co's name on it.

I just did a one day race (Banning) and we had to 'borrow' hay bales from a feed store(their sponsership) and they got mud on them so now I have to pay for damaged bales.NOT GOOD !

If you have a permanent track bagged bales could last 10 times longer and always look nice.
Very funny Kevin...I'll remember that !....Bob or I will let you know as soon as we do, I'm still in the planning stages for that new track....

Why not use straw bales instead of hay? Last I knew, straw was about 1/3 the price of hay around here.

I asked the same question a couple years ago, the reason is they are dangerous. In the case of an accident the straw can stick into you.
