Kawasaki carb question
« on: December 13, 2011, 06:08:02 pm »
Could someone tell me if the carb for the 25 hp is the same as the 19 hp? If the 25 carb is bigger - will it fit the 19 intake. The cid is the same for both engines. Wondering if the carb makes the different hp?
Thanks,

Ron

The carb is part of the equation with bigger jets. Depending on the year some used mikuni carbs and most newer ones use the nikki carbs. They both have the same bolt patterns.

There may be a difference in the bores on the carbs but Im honestly not sure on that one. I will tell you this though about the carbs on Kawasaki engines, most that Ive seen only open the throttle shutters (butterflies) about half way if even that much.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the "bore" is bigger on the 25, but I don't trust my memory on that. Anyone else know for sure?

Bore may be a hare bigger but prolly not alot... the thing I would watch would be how far the butterflies open and check your jet sizes... I ran one off a 19 or 20 hp on my intek for a while and it was awesome!.... it was a mikuni and I had to trim on the throttle plate to get the butterlies open all the way
There's somethin' in the works...

THE 25 CARB OPENS ALL THE WAY UP. BIGGER JETS THAN THE 19-23'S. FLOWS MUCH BETTER.
