I raced in Shapleigh ME main this year and that track is a great size track. I personally really don't like the really big tracks. the proverbial stuff  will almost always hit the fan When speeds get where they get on big tracks. not to mention that the money really shows on the big tracks.

Straights are where you take a break between the racing at each end......Long straits are for old men who need longer breaks! :P

i dont know about that either Mike, on the little tracks the Horsepower can come to the front quick if they got all that power to come off the corner. Not to mention if people have the money to put front brakes on there mower than there at an advantage as well...

However after racing just a Rusty's track the last time I raced, and now racing on a couple smaller tracks at the ARMA races i gotta say i like the smaller tracks... Much more fun competitive racing!....

Lol!

I do like short tracks better, but Variety is the spice of life as they say.
Give me any place to swap dirt or grass with my buddies and I go home smiling! :D

I just found my blueprints of the Estacada track, and it has 200' straights and that puts it right at the 660' mark for a true 1/8 mile.Ask anyone that races there and they will tell you it's a perfect length for all.US rules are that the track has to atleast 30' wide,I like 40' for a couple reasons, the first being it's SAFER and another cool thing is we had 4 wide more than a couple times! To each his own........ ;)

I've blown engines (broke cranks) when I wasn't even racing! I even blew one when it was idling, just after I passed tech, down in Maryland two years ago, 5 feet from the tech area. :omg:
