I ran Art Neavill's IMOW once when mine blew the tranny...(Arts a good guy) ..

Anyway, he runs with the gas on left of wheel ..was hard to "switch it up" for a single race, but I could see a quicker take off possibilty by being able to use "right hand" (dominant) to connect kill switch and starter button on his mowchine while operating gas with left...

But some of that depends on where you locate your switch and button..

Art is awesome off the start.I have my IMOW set up so with a little choke help, I start in third gear with no clutch and slam it to fifth after I get going. If I can find my kill switch quick I generally have a great start.I could not beat him off the start though.First race I started 2nd to last and jumped to 3rd out of 12 off the start and he was second.Second race he started the same and I could not get him.I have a tremendous amount of respect for him and his racing. He's got it worked out...I didn't win but I sure learned a lot.

i keep it like a stickshift car> clutch-brake-gas.  the gas n brake being on the right.  its really good to be able to have a "death grip" on the  steering wheel.

Art is one of the reasons I'm getting into this!

He and his wife came into my dealership last summer and he was wearing his Lets Mow t-shirt and I told him I'd watched mower racing on speed vision once.  We spoke for a while while his wife was demo-driving one of my cars and he turned out to be a pretty good guy.

The next week, he brought 2 of his race mowers up to my store to let me hop on one and see them in person.  My technicians were peeing their pants at the sight and SOUNDS of this guy blasting up and down the driveway between our service department and body shop...ECHOOOO!!!!!

Great guy.  Now I gotta call him on Monday.

yeah ART is the best , he came over to WI for our last race last year and my motor didnt show up ( *&^#@$!*&$# UPS ) so I went to the race without my mowchine and ART came over and told me there was NO WAY I was going to set out when he had a extra MOWchine there .

Wow if you guys keep talking about Art like this we're going to have to chip in to by another cape!  He does deserve though.  Everywhere I been, you hear the same type of stories about Art.  How about icon status?

Hope the pix come out............ I have the throttle lever around 2 O'Clock on the wheel. Push Button starter top left, aux kill switch and teather kill on right of dash.
The lower left switch is to kill the solenoid coil circuit to avoid accidental starting.

Clutch is on the Left (while sitting on sled)...brake is on the the right. Shifter is between the legs.  I run front and rear brakes,  Brake adjustment can be done via the brake rod with an extra bolt(see pic) between front and rear...I am still trying to find the sweet spot between front and rear adjustment....I have it around 60%front/40%rear right now.
