A super stock mower is a 20 to 23 mph mower.

Sorry it's all black on black... This angle shows the pivot point a little better.. are you using the stock gear steering on this?

First year we did, but steering was not responsive enough....and even though the gear is adjustable, there was too much "slop" in the mesh...
We changed it to direct steer (with same bell crank) for this season and mowchine was much tighter with 1/3 turn lock to lock....

Sami moving the seat back a couple inches... Seems her legs "stretched" a bit since we built this mowchine two seasons ago and it needs a little adjustment (which is good, because now it'll fit me and I may run it as IMOW from time to time) After the Ooltewah TN race, this mowchine will be retired as Sami is moving up to the AP class and switching to the Rugg chassis... Two full seasons, less than $500 invested: Foote tranny, 3/4" axle, mechanical brakes. First rebuild (clean and lube) of tranny done at end of 2nd season. NO major breakdowns or repairs needed. I would say this was an economical and successful experiment in getting my daughter involved in lawn mower racing and an excellent opportunity for us to develop a Father/Daughter relationship at this influential time in her life. Man, I love lawn mower racing....

hey are the footes good for imow?...i thought they broke to easy? They do Steve...for everybody else... This was one of those "don't try this at home" things, but it workd for me.... did you use the orig chain axel?. Yes, with modifications...and warnings and cavaets and "don't try this at home" but it worked for me. (with documentation and pictures) Read the whole build... the axle mods and tranny cavaets are in there over and over.. Bottom line.... we understood the short comings, we were easy on the equipment and we were lucky...

Actually she does...as long as it's not too cold... seems like you and your daughter have a really good relationship. my step daughter is only 4 turning 5 on the 25th, and she wants to be in the garage with me all the time, wanting to use tools and so on. i can't wait until she gets big enough to be able to ride a mower by her self, and then that's when I'm going to get her going!!!! i have a mower just about like yours(sammi's) and it has just the F,N,R tranny in it, would i need to change it out with a Foote or 700? it has the same rearend as yours, but i severely bent a wheel trying to get it off. I wish that i could be able to go deer hunting again(wife won't let me go) i miss the taste of good ol' deer meat. above all, don't ever loose the friendship that you and your daughter have, cause it may be hard to get back if you even could, you are a very lucky and a very rich man in my book.
