questions..
« on: March 26, 2011, 01:30:54 pm »
just got my first mower to modify and have no idea where to start..

its a craftsman with a 15.5 briggs on it.

im not really looking to jump head first into racing or anything, just want something to play on. where should i start?

i already took the deck off of it, i guess next would be drive pullys, belt and brakes?

are there any ways to calculate the change in belt size, without buying one and just trying it until you find one?

any more info that will help, just ask and i will get it...

thanks.

Hi your worried about not getting responses mainly your not going to find anyone on here that really supports the statement above. We here are about safety. But I will say just read the build sections thats all the information you really need.

The one that cheered for every racer no matter who they were!
The one that said Daddy, I can't wait to be on the track like them?

thanks for the reply.

although, i never stated that i wanted to be careless.

that is why i came here for help. i can make the pully changes myself without any help and make it faster, i was looking for help with the things to make it safer. like better brakes and such.

any help would be greatly apriciated.

But you fail to mention stiffening the frame, kill switch, steering, driveline mods....
Like she said, your bes bet would be to read through the builds, see what its all about, devise a game plan then ask questions. All the guys and gals that posted their whole build ups step by step did NOT have to do that. They did it to help others. The people on this site are here on our spare time offering help and advice. It is nobodys duty! The mods around here are all volunteers as well. And on saturday, most of us are usually at a race track!!

Look and read. If you look PROPERLY, there are literally days worth of great information packed in the threads here. Now, my advice is to start with the build threads and away you go. Good luck and BE SAFE>>>>>
