At 9" dia, gonna be hard to get tires for it..??

What are you measuring the 9" from...? not the outer lip of rim, but where the tire rides...

Yes Squidd Hondas really do use a 9 inch wheel a lot. The tires and wheels on our 250X come from a 2001 400EX and they are 9 inch diameter. As well as a set in the shed off of a 1988 250R. Its not uncommon to see 9 inch diameter wheels on a Honda

I'm not disputing tha fact as I totally agree. Just clearing things up to get to that point in the conversation without a mix up. ;)

YES THEY COME IN ALUINUM AND USUALLY ARE LESS MONEY. YOU ALSO DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SPECIAL HUBS OR TIRES. IF YOU ARE ON A TIGHT BUDGET THEY ALSO AVAILABLE IN STEEL AND VERY REASONABLE.

I'm not saying they don't make any that is 8 X 8 but all that I have seen are 8 X 7 steel wheels.

They make 8x6, 8x7, 8x8, 8x9..... and so on for golf kart rims, and they are aluminum!

I think Grasscarracing sells an 8 x 10 inch aluminum wheel with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, smaller sizes also.
You never win a race by focusing on one aspect of the race!  Motor isn't everything, but you better have a good one!  Chassis too!  But remember, a driver can take a slow machine and make it faster!  I may not have/be the best of any of these but I'm trying!

On my first mower (the one in my avatar) I ran plain old steel golf kart wheels from this place: http://www.bakerscartsupply.com/products.asp?cat=485

That was two years ago, so they don't carry the chrome ones like mine anymore, but they still have steel painted 8x7 for 15 bucks.  Not bad for the beginner racer on a budget.  I also noticed they carry 8x7 aluminum wheels as well.

On my golf cart wheels, I run 16x6.50-8, and they work well for what they are.  The new mower is running aluminum front and rear.  I'm looking forward to seeing the difference.
