Preffered method
« on: February 26, 2011, 01:04:59 pm »
I got a 246 EC cam and lifters need clearance. Which is the preffered method for achieving this goal? And yes I read the thread on it but its not very clear. Deburr the bore hole or grind the bore for the clearance I need.

you need clearance between the lifter and valve? if so you take it off the valve stem. i really dont understand yor question.

What you have to do is back cut the lifter bore (chamfer the bore hole) so the lifter goes in deeper. This can be done with fancy high tech tools or it can be done with a die grinder with a ball type bit on it or even a dremel with same type bit.
