several, several years ago, they were in a 4 wheel drive ride on, Chuck miller could go into more detail but thats all I know

Ok.....been toying with the idea of a Wankel Rotary engine for FX and SuperMod single. I have found where they put them in push mowers but still searching for riding mower.

FX and supermod single are two totally different classes Tommy. Just pointing this out cuz I know you are a die hard USLMRA racer

By reading the rules I can run a FX mower in Supermod single.

yes you can. Super mod single is an outlaw type chassi. Low with a kart seat and offset. etc. Pro X is the ARMA equivilent of FX.  ;)

I don't imagine the wankle engine will be allowed. It shouldn't even be allowed in karting but thats just my opinion.

If it was used in a lawnmower at one time then its allowed. I have found them in push mowers all over but those are too small of an engine. I have a few people that say they have one but I havent found any factory specs. These engines are way more efficient than piston engines considering it all moves in a circle. Modifications are endless with these engines. The 303cc engine by Sachs has been dynoed at 40hp at 4500 rpm. Keep in mind that is stock 4 stroke. These engines redline right aroujnd 12000 rpm.

Well the overhead cam engines in riders have been banned and these motors should not be allowed either. They are expensinve and they would basically obsolete the single piston engines. I will be one of the first to lobby for a ban on them for that reason alone. I got nothing against the motor but in order to be competitive everyone would have to have it. And right now I think the field is fairly even.

OK, IVE BEN WATCHING THIS THREAD. AS THE RULES ARE WRITTEN NOW ITS OK TO USE. HOW EVER ITS NOT A MASS PRODUCED ENGINE IN TODAYS MARKET. FINDING THE ENGINE,PARTS AVALIABILTY IS ABOUT NONE.

WHY WHOULD YOU WANT TO RUN THIS OTHER THAN ITS AN COOL ENGINE.
ILL GIVE YA THE COOL FACTOR BUT NOT THE RACE FACTOR. THERE WAS MANY 2 CYCLE ENGINES ON REEL MOWERS. DO YOU WANT TO RUN ONE OF THOSE?

WE CANT RUN OVER HEAD CAMS OR LIQUID COOLED ENGINES. WHY WOULD ANYONE ALLOW THIS ONE?

PUT IT ON A SHOW PIECE OR AN DRAG MOWER. MAYBE GO SET THE MOWER SPEED RECORD WITH AN ROTARY. THAT WOULD BE VERY COOL.

If I can find a lawnmower that had the 303 sachs engine in it it wouldn't be expensive at all. I have a few contacts that have seen a mower built in the 60s with one in it they have been doing some research trying to get the proper paper work. The 303 engine was not only used in lawnmowers but artic cat snowmobiles and motorcycles so there is a ton of them out there. We have a local boneyard with close to 20 of these engines. They are more reliable and safer. Not trying to start a big bash/fight thread. I will post my findings when appropriate.
