Good Axle Bearings
« on: December 20, 2010, 07:21:47 pm »
Who runs what for their rear axle bearings? I just started to tear my BP (Orange Deere) apart and found both rear axle bearings have seized at on time and spun on the axle. Pain to get out. Ruined the axle too. Just wonder when it happened and how much faster I would have been. I have checked them after every race and always seemed to be ok. I must of just missed it. I would feel something get tight every now and then, but I thought it it was the chain needing lube. Race and learn, huh?

If your running kart bearings Glen and you wash your mowchine alot, you need to make sure to lube the bearings or they will rust.

I like the NTN free spin bearings and use the removable shields on them.   Only have them on the SP as I got lazy on the last 2 builds, but you can remove the shield, clean it out and relube the bearing.   I know APS carrys them.  I just bough the cheep free spins for my FX build and used what came on the BP.
