Think I could make these wheels fit?
« on: November 01, 2006, 10:13:02 pm »
I have a new set of 8x8 aluminum wheels that I purchased a while back for use on one of my quads...the bolt pattern is 4 on 100mm (3.937"). Do you think I could get away with opening up the holes to fit a 4 on 4 hub?

I have no use for them anymore, but if I could use these I wouldn't have to spend another $80.00 on new ones!

actually i woudnt "open up the holes" as u suggest i would drill the new holes in between the old holes that way there is no risk of having "slop" inthe bolt holes ;)

the biggest problem I see on a wheel, if it has seats it will try and go off center, which will side load the lug bolts intead of push pull..

if the wheel is flat (no centering lips) I'd take it and have the holes ovaled on a mill. if you don't widen the holes it would still be impossible to be off center.

....added......

oopss.... dug a little deep for this one I did... sorry

These wheels have been traded for the proper bolt pattern! Thanks for your input!
