You can not fit 6" rims on a 4 bolt hub...

okay what about a different hub that will work with a 1" live axle?

You could use those with that hub you have, but you would need to drill a new bolt circle in it and cut it down some.
I have a hub for a 1" axle with a 2 7/8" bolt circle, but Ido not know where it came from?

you will thank yourself for running tubes later down the road when you get into low tire pressure situations

If you're doing a build, build it safe and strong the first time. You will thank yourself. A good place to get good used parts is www.4cycle.com under their forum. They are kart guys and there is a TON of stuff on there that we can use on mowers.
