First, what is the mwdta?

There are a couple of great groups in Iowa, just ran with them this weekend. Cow Pasture Raceway is in Reasnor Iowa, look for the Ustamow guys, There is the Missouri Valley Lawn Mower Racers as well as the Iowa Lawn mower Racing Association, all in Southern Part of Iowa and then check out the Missouri Indoor Nationals.  There is actually some really good racing in the area!

We are Located in SE Kansas, we have a race this weekend in Overbrook Kansas.

Corey,
Where do you plan on having the next race at? I built a Craftsman/Murray with a 23hp stock Kawasaki that I would love to race. Your rules would be nice. There are no clubs here in KC, so I built my mower with provisions to build up instead of down. Anyone else in the Kansas City area that has an interest in drag racing lawnmowers post here so we can get something going. Do it.

Na. Show up and see what we are about!  Get a drag/circle race going on. Build a track and drag race on the front strech!

I'd drag my FX if it fit in a class!

I love drag racing, just can't afford a car!  We drag our sleds once a year on grass just cus we get the itch to ride!...........and I have a nasty fast seld!

Here is a link to my mower. Built to go straight. The sheetmetal is untouched other than needing paint.

the race will be october 23 2010 in sumner missouri not sure on the time yet will let you know sumner is south east of chillicothe 12 miles or so south of highway 36 there will be trophies and possibly 100 percent payback just depends on how much money we can get donated and how many tractors show up please remember this is gonna be the start to a new beginning so please have patients it will work out as far as rules here is a brief idea:

stock class
1.50 inch deck and smaller belt must be removed
2.deck must be on mower this is stock mowers people you cant mow without the deck
3.for all ages big and lil kids this is just for fun adults can do it also but children must have parent consent

kids super stock
1.18 hp max engine size
2.drive line changes allowed but no bigger then 3 inch diameter primary drive pulley
3.think safety kill switches and wheely bars are a required
4.age limit is up to 16 years of age
5.no carb changes engine must appear to be stock
6.rpm limited to 3000 rpm

adult super stock (for those that have raced with us before this class ihas changed)
1.18 hp max engine no carb changes must appear stock
2.unlimited rpm
3.kill switch and wheely bar required
4.drive line changes allowed must be lawnmower parts

modified
1.25 hp engine  max
2.drive line changes allowed must be lawnmower parts
3.unlimted rpm
4.kill switch and wheely bar required

outlaw
1.25 hp engine max
2.must be 18 or have racing experience
3.must be lawnmower frame
4.drive line changes allowed
5.kill switch and wheely bar required
6.unlimited rpm

and anything that is safety related is highly recommended the official has final say on who races and who dont so dont bring something that is unsafe and as for the guy with the fx bring it on i will run you and show you what the show me sod slingers is like people i am all about the show and having a good time there is no tolerence for drugs and alcohol or fighting if your a poor sport dont come and if their is kids that want to do it bring them with a stock mower their is always a good crowd that loves this so come one come all remember common sense goes a long ways thanks   corey ludington

any questions feel free to call me 6603539022 or the official dale at 6603751656 or josh at 6605915206 if you want to build something feel free to call we will help you as much as possible
for adult super stock and modified you must be 14 years to race

just wanted to say thanks to the guy from the kansas city area that called and reminded us that there was no time posted on here.......  so the time is going to be october 23 at 3 p.m. please be here at 2:30 if you plan to race.,
if you have any questions about my rules give me a call 6603539022 and you will not have to run a deck in the stock class. i have mowers coming from iowa and as far as alabama coming to race plus all the locals that race in the mwdta once again thanks to all that are planning on coming. there may be payback at this race but usually just give trophies any questions call thanks

Did you guys get to race on Oct. 23rd. I was going to take off work but it looked like it was raining up that way so I didn't go.
