« on: May 29, 2010, 10:06:35 pm »
Hey guys,I got a problem blowing oil out of breather catch can filter! Im  hoping some body may have an idea whats wrong.  Its a 28 CI OHV briggs compleatly stock. I did a compression test and had 75lb dry and 80 wet . it dosen't smoke ,starts easy and isnt down on power. I drained almost 4oz of oil out ofcatch can! engine has 15 races on it. also no oil on spark plug.  could it be Rings?

Before you tear it down try this, pull your valve cover and weld a pipe coupling in it as close to the top as you can. Use this for you catch can. Seal the hole you were useing.

Your welcome, the OHV's seem to have different personalities, had a brand new one that used the same breather system as the engine before it. I was afraid to put it on the track. Tried the breather in the valve cover and it loss a teaspoonful from then on. I used a 3/8" line to the puke tank.

if it has a pcv valve for it, that may be the problem. if it breathes from the valve cover then its probably time for rings.

If you build it, it should fly.
take it out and let it eat...
