My first racing mower
« on: March 24, 2010, 07:49:02 pm »
I have a Yard-Man by MTD with a Kohler Command 15hp. My question is, If I remove the governor what risk do I run of blowing the motor and if I do remove it what steps do I need to take? Also are there any step by step guides online with visual ads? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

read into the build section, there is alot more to making a mower fast than just removing the governor and swapping pulleys, thats how you get hurt, remember safety is number one on this site

Improve your chassis before you even think about toying with the motor.  Swapping pulleys with out brakes and safe steering are how people get hurt
