i was thinking out side the box on this one lol.... thanks for the help george  twothumbsup

i just got a box of goody parts today for the nice guys at EC... are fedex guy isnt liking me at this point lol i got my front brakes and some more gears for the trans and the axle. another set of wheels and a set of turf pro tires to put on them, push rods for the motor, fuel line for my motor and my dads, brake line, rings for the motor, and the piston pin, copper ext. gasket and flange for the ext, a 90deg and a 45deg bend for the ext, and some odds an ends parts.... so now you can see why the fedex guy didnt like me today lol 38lb box...

i hope to get the mower painted this weekend if the weather holds out but there calling for more cold and rain... so it looks like iam going to be killing my dad with the heater again so we can paint lol sorry ole man your going to have to wear less close...

Curious why you didnt cut out the material directly behind the dash to make that all open. Also could you post some pics of the pedal set up along with clutch and brake linkages?

He would have to put metal back in for the clutch, if he cut the material you are talking about.

you kinda lost me here!! What material are you talk about??? I can email some pictures after I get it back together I can't post any right know we are having problems with are Internet here at home

Don Whitehead from Michigan built this same chassis,he cuts out all the floor pan from the dash back to the rear axle.  He welds a diagonal piece in to mount the clutch to, instead of using the factory clutch mount area on the floor pan.  I have done it both ways with this chassis, it's 30 minutes and 2 pounds difference.  


There used to be pics in the build section,  they are no longer there, photobuck is inactive.

I got ya!!! I really don't see a need for all that over 2lbs.. Plus I would think that would make the frame weak.. Also that's against US rules...

It's legal, the idea is to make the chassis alot like the widebody chassis with a few diagonal supports for strength to minimize the twist of the frame.
