John Deere Snow Pusher
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:56:54 pm »
I put this together 2 years ago to clean off the driveway only. I picked up this 111 Hyro for $25.00. I pulled the 11hp single Briggs and put in a 19Hp Briggs twin that I got from a junk Sears. I had to notch the frame here and there to make it fit. The crank ended up in a different spot but got lucky as the hydro belt made it back to the hydro ok. I only had to cut out the bracket that was used for the elec PTO clutch. I didn't want to butcher up the hood (no pun intended) so I made some new hinges to raise the hood 3 inches for the engine to fit.  I fitted it with "duel exhaust" a straight thru screw in muffler on each cylinder. Seat from a junk MTD. See below what I used for wheel weights

The wheel weights are kawaski flywheels that fit perfect. One piece of all thread holds them on. Chains are cut down car chains

I call it "snow problem". I have about $45 invested.

What is "snow"? I think I may have forgotten. Is it anything like sand? We have a bunch of that.

That's really cool. I was supposed to get some snowblower attachments for my Cub Cadets, but the guy that gave me the mowers threw them away

That would have been good for me, because it would have only been $0 invested :D

I eventually gave up on trying to find the right attachment for the front of the cubs and went and bought a John Deer walk-behind snowblower.

Looks like a snow pushin machine!  I do have to say, I have a 19.5 oppossed twin with the dual screw in mufflers- and i think it sounds like dog crap compared to other oppy's i have heard with big open exhaust, and not even much quieter(some yes).  I plan on changing that as soon as possible.

I know this is a REALLY old post but I just stuck a 18.5 "L" head briggs in my 111 and don't want to butcher the hood either. would you, if you can , send a couple of pics of the hinge area and the dash area so I can get an idea of how to close this (dash) area off?
Thanks,
Bob BTW, this is a super easy re-power conversion isn't it? :)
