I know Iam askin alot but is it possible to get a lil more grunt out of it without going in to it? The only thing I know to do is clean and tune the carb. any help would be great. John

Remove the choke.
Advance the timing.
free flow air filter.
Open exhaust.
maybe a jet change, maybe not..lol
Thats about it without gettin in it.

cool, I get the timing advance, the air filter, and mostly the exhaust. but what will removing the choke do, and roughly how much hp more you think will come from it? Iam trying for a pulling tractor, no real rules on mods, just no big dollar stuff and no motors other than lawnmower. thank you John

Removing the choke just removes an unnecessary obstruction in the air flow.
I don't know how many horse power it will give you, minimal.

Get an E3 spark plug for it, you can get them from lowes, and home depot. just bring your old spark plug to get the number off of it, and E3's have the numbers of the old plugs they replace on there pakage. They are a good investment to a couple bucks for more hp, less emissions, and better fuel economy! and yes they work!
