2  Race and Event Announcements / ARMA Races / ARMA Board of Directors Annual Meeting on: November 30, 2013, 06:40:11 PM
Every year the ARMA Board of Directors meets to review the season, receive updates on events for the following year, and discuss rule and procedure changes.  Every effort is made to solicit suggestions from ARMA racers since we believe that our racers are the driving force behind the success of this organization.  A preliminary agenda has been compiled utilizing the input provided by racers at the season ending finals.  ARMA racers who were unable to attend finals and wish to submit suggestions or items for the agenda should email me at the address below.   Feel free to email any questions as well.  Any submissions need to be received prior to the December 14th meeting.

If you emailed me at any point over the past month or so and did not receive a response, feel free to send it to me again.  A glitch with my phone streaming resulted in some emails getting "misdirected".  I believe I have responded to all of those messages, but I want to be sure I did not miss any.

Thanks!

11  Race and Event Announcements / ARMA Races / New River Valley Fair and Wash Co Ag Expo on: July 29, 2013, 06:33:58 PM
Thank you to all of the racers who came out to support our double header weekend.  We know the spectators at both events enjoyed what they saw!  Inspired by your performance they stepped up to help us assist two worthwhile charities.  The fair board in Dublin informed us that with the proceeds raised during their event over 125 people would be fed at Daily Bread.  That’s awesome!  And, as a result of the donations gathered at the Washington Ag Expo about the same number of children will receive weekend meals to hold them over until they return to school where they qualify for the school lunch program.  As sad a part of our current economy it is that so many people are doing without, it is wonderful to know that because of something we do for fun we are benefiting others.  What a great beginning the Power of Positive Tour has had!

On another note, I would like to thank all of the racers who commented and emailed about some issues we experienced this weekend.  I appreciate feedback and I especially welcome suggestions about how to make improvements.  In the interest of keeping races moving and respecting everyone’s time I often move forward too quickly without gathering information first.  This has led to confusion and frustration.  I want to issue a “mea culpa” and promise to do better in the future, even if it means learning some flag communication from Danny or running some laps!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next event at the Montgomery County Fair on August 9th!!!

12  Race and Event Announcements / ARMA Races / Points Update on: July 22, 2013, 03:56:21 PM
We have had an unusual start to our racing season this year.  At times it has felt like an uphill battle just to move forward one small step.  But, much to our delight, racers greeted us at each event with positive attitudes and a willingness to help in any way possible.  Your dedication, enthusiasm and love of the sport shone through on the track and in the pits.  We appreciate your efforts, support and assistance.  This sport is continuing to grow due to YOUR efforts.  We have heard nothing but complementary comments from each venue we have visited this year!  And, in the recent weeks we have had discussions with these venues about ways to make these events even better next year!  Some of these ways will be “creative”, as the majority of our fairs and venues have already taken economic hits themselves.  With limited or even non-existent budgets these locales actively worked with our national staff this year to create situations where we were able to ensure racers would have events to participate in and the fairs/venue hosts were able to have quality entertainment that matched their funding.

Points earned by racers through the most recent event in Indiana have been posted on the ARMA website.  Please take a look and email me any errors that you see.  Email is the best way to have a mistake corrected as I can best monitor them from there.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have as well.

The racing season is getting ready to get into full swing!  We look forward to visiting with ARMA racers throughout the United States as we complete our visits to all four regions of the country.  Nothing makes us happier than watching racers do what they love best and spread the power of positive at the same time!!

THANKS!!!!!!!

P.S.- No bovines were harmed in the production of this event!!  Wink

15  Race and Event Announcements / ARMA Races / National Point Series Update on: July 02, 2013, 06:12:44 PM
As many of you are aware, the past two and a half weeks have been very challenging ones for us.  While we are not “back up to full speed” yet, we are working to correct some delays and get everything back on track.  Below are some of the comments about the past two National Point Series races that deserved to be brought to everyone’s attention.  Updated points will be uploaded to the ARMA site shortly showing the current standings.  Feel free to contact me directly with any questions.  Thank you to all who have helped us through these past weeks.

Smith Scholarship Memorial Race:
We were honored to be part of the races held on June 15th and 16th at Savannah Valley Speedway that raised funds for a scholarship account started on behalf of Brian Smith’s children.  Racers travelled from a variety of regions to attend and support this event.  We would like to acknowledge the exceptional efforts of Joey Chambers and the Limestone Valley racers for their personal gifts for Brian’s children.  We were able to meet Brian’s family and share with them stories of his “racing side”.  An impromptu auction was held using some items donated by his family and Aaron got to try his hand as auctioneer.  We would like to sincerely thank all the racers and their families for helping to put on such a wonderful event.  It was truly touching to see how we can work together as a racing community to help others in need.

Shapleigh, ME/Chesapeake City, MD:
Racers from the north and south worked to make this event happen.  As soon as we notified drivers that the race was going to be moved they quickly moved into action.  We appreciate the speedy travel and work arrangements our racers from the north made in order to attend this event.  A special thank you goes out to our “track prep crew” of Howard, Chris, and Richard.  It was a very LONG week and a half of hard labor to bring the track close to its former glory.  We would not have been close to being able to have this race without your help!  This event was exceptional in its race day help as well.  There was not a single racer who did not help in some way on race weekend!  Every person in attendance jumped in and assisted with every need that arose.  We cannot thank you enough for all of your efforts!!!  They were greatly appreciated!!  We only wish that the “gremlins” didn’t work so hard against this event.  It was a shame to watch all of the hard work wash away when Mother Nature’s second hit totally destroyed the track (and pits) beyond use.  We hope to have the opportunity to bring all of our northern and southern racers together again in the future for some great on track action!

Now……..on to Fifield!!!!!!!!!!!!!  woo woo woo
