This is a true pressure lube engine i have had the pan off it has the oil pump and sump and everything like it should and i have come to find that they are pretty rare, but if i cant find a new crank i may just machine it and key it to make it work like ti need.

3  Engine Help / Briggs Flathead / 16 hp twin question on: December 12, 2013, 09:41:53 PM
I have a 16 horse opposed twin horizontal shaft engine that is pressure lubed and it has a tapered shaft on it. I was wondering if a vertical engine that is pressure lubed as well would have the same crank shaft or if there is any difference in them at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 Thanks

Look up the youtube video of Sumner Mo lawn mower races and you will see the types of mowers our club runs. we run a stock mower class for kids and then kids super stock, adult super stock, modified and outlaws. We have never had good luck running a RAGB but in the outlaws class we have guys running commet clutches and jack shafts and those mowers will move in 160 ft track we race on.

We use the 800 or 820 transaxle with the spider gears locked and get along great. Some people run 600 but you gotta be able to shift it pretty well but not alot of guys run 700 series.

We drag race in Mid Missouri we race 160 foot strip and run it about 45 or so. we did run a 200 foot when we first started but we slowed shortened the track because we felt we where goin to fast to be racing on just streets, so for safety we shortened it to 160.
