1  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / nikki two barrel carb problems on: July 22, 2014, 12:02:55 AM
My carb has a aluminum bowl with all lows and high side jets in bowl. Adjustable low needles on top, straight up coming down. Two 12mm plugs in bowl over mains. I need a carb kit and can't find part numbers. It's of a 35 cube vanny i was told. Ive looked up tons of repair manuals online and can't seem to find the right one. Need a needle , bowl gasket and float. Worth a try runnung like    . Any help would be great. Thanks
2  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 30 cube vanny drip gas out of vent tube. on: July 12, 2014, 11:46:43 AM
Has a double barrel Nikki carb on it. At an idle It's fine but I can see it start coming at around 4000-8000 rpm. Ran great Saturday and on Sunday started cutting out a bit around 4200 then rev up normal , then noticed a trail of gas when it was cutting out. Could this be a float and seat problem ? Plugs look rich on Sunday .
Thanks for any input
3  General / Coffee Shop / Need some help ( advice) on: June 21, 2014, 07:24:54 PM
I've been racing for 4 years now and totally hooked. In for the long haul . Really enjoy Lawnmower racing and don't want to see it fade away around here. I took over our club last year as president of the fvlma. All the old timers are retiring and I'm really having a hard time getting people involved into this sport. I canceled 4 events this year and have 4 still locally . Looking for  ideas to get new people wanting to get into the awesome sport of Lawnmower racing. Thanks

5  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Air filter protection on carb on left side over front left tire. on: May 03, 2014, 11:16:43 PM
Hello . I'm running a vanny with carb ,EC air filter sticking out left side past frame about 6" . Couldn't fit it under hood. I was wondering if some one makes a shield or can give any pictures . Or can you build a fender over each front tire to stop rocks , dirt and mud going right into filter. Are front fender legal in Arma ? It's going to be interesting with 45 pounds preload on front left straight..crank centered in frame. Thanks for any help.

8  Mower Building / Setup Help / Chassis / Wheel base Vs width on: March 14, 2014, 08:38:02 PM
Say going as wide as long would that effect cornering? Better to be a few inches longer than wider? Not looking for exact measurements, your secrets  Tongue. just how they effect each other. Thanks for any info.
9  Mower Building / Setup Help / Chassis / Measuring width on: March 09, 2014, 11:05:28 PM
By the rules does the width measure from farthest point out of rim or tire tread furthest out? I'm running 13-6.5-6 on 8.25-6 rims. If it's furthest point at 40 wide you loss 1.5 inches do to side wall,38.5.Thanks for clarification
10  General / Coffee Shop / Air filter socks on: March 08, 2014, 09:38:27 AM
Where's a good place to get a filter protector that fits the ec filter for the  singles Briggs motors. 5" long 4" wide. Looked at a couple cart sites but there to small to fit over. Is there one that's really good to stop water and mud. Lots of are tracks we race on are watered multiple times in a day and tired of cleaning air filter almost 5 times a day and I run three mowers .lol

12  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 31 Avs pistion on: January 30, 2014, 08:39:46 PM
Do these pistons  have any offset?I measure the pin out on both sides and seem to be the same. It had a arrow in the direction to flywheel side but I had too shave .022 off the top to get my .035 top of pistion to head clearance and I forgot to mark it. bash bash. Can this piston run either way? It has only 1 retaining ring on piston to retain pin. Does clip face sump or flywheel side? It's a factory .20 over Avs short skirt piston, flat top Teflon coated for 31 cube single Briggs .thanks for any help fixing my mess up.lol
13  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / horizontal vs vertical vanny on: January 29, 2014, 11:12:09 PM

14  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Oil pump mod engine? on: January 18, 2014, 09:06:41 PM
I know the single Briggs aren't pressure lube but they do circulate the oil. 20 psi at idle warm and 45psi at 3500rpm. I put a magnet on filter. Do you think this would help keep cleaner, longer cylinder life and less chances of getting scratches on cylinder wall due to break in debris ? I break in on bench , drain oil, drop sump and clean.i change oil every race day but any debris in there don't all come out because of the fins in pan , but the oil circuiting the oil would help right? Thanks for your input. Have any of you blown a pump out of these engines? Oil pump or no oil pump .
