Well this year we are the second two day event of 2012. I have got a lot of positive response from last years race and we will be setting the bar higher this year to put on the best race we can. This is Memorial Day weekend and we want everyone to enjoy it as a vacation to Maine as well a two day national points race. WE are still finalizing a lot of things but one big question seems to be where to stay so here is a list of local places.

We are less then an hour from lots of coastline in Maine. Many who came last year traveled as far as Portland and enjoyed all that is Maine and our great rocky coast line with nice sandy beaches mixed in.
We are working on some sort of seafood dinner for Saturday night (Lobst-ah as we say it here in Maine) after the races and maybe a band to wind the night down. More on that as it gets finalized. The meal will need some ahead planning from racers so we can get fresh lobst-ah off the boat more on that later.
Local Airports are Boston MA
                          Portland, ME
                          Manchester, NH
If anyone wants to fly in and needs a ride from airport let me know soon.

10  Race and Event Announcements / ARMA Races / ARMA 2 day event May 28-29th in Shapleigh, Maine on: April 05, 2011, 07:57:31 AM
The Redneck Raceway staff would like to say thanks to everyone involved in making this 2 day event happen. We know that it is a bit of a haul for some to make it to Maine. We are located in the southern tip of Maine so think of it more like driving to NH. Double points to start your season with one stop whats better then that? We are working hard to make this a great weekend for everyone. We have a live band playing Saturday during the races, events for kids, animals for everyone to visit. The track is located on a Alpaca Ranch so lots to see and do. We have a snack shack or the TRACK SHACK as it will be known this year with lots of great food for the whole weekend at great prices. We would love to have some vendors show that have racing tractor items only to sell.
Being its a holiday weekend here is some local places to stay so you can book early.

We are still waiting to hear if we can have camping on site. As soon as we know we will post it here. Lots of town permits to iron out right now for the band and people stuff. This looks like it will be a great time for everyone. We are a little over a half hour from the coast if anyone wants to check out any of the hotels in the Wells beach area, do it soon this is a holiday weekend things book quick here.

Thanks again to Aaron and his crew they have worked hard to make this happen also.

13  Mower Building / Setup Help / Driveline / puzzled on: October 30, 2010, 09:28:05 PM
ok I am taking a sportsman tractor and making it an 8:1 ratio. The sportsman had a locked transaxle and I adjusted rear pully to 8:1 ratio and got on and it went to fast. I fooled with it for a while and then put another transaxle in with an open diff adjusted that to 8:1 and it went fine so I'm wondering why the same model transaxle (4 speed foote's) acts this way. This is the forth one I have done and never had  a problem before. But this was the first transaxle that was locked. Is there some kind of gearing in the spiders that make this differance?
14  Mower Building / Setup Help / Driveline / help getting 8:1 final ratio on: July 27, 2010, 06:45:21 PM
We are starting a new prepared class for the kids and ladies at our track. We are doing the 8:1 ratio for final drive ratio. I have come up with about 6.75:1 on transaxle ratio for 5th gear. And this means I have two pulleys that are pretty close in size to get my 8:1 ratio. What is everyone else running for pulley sizes if you don't mind me asking. This shouldn't be a big secret I don't think given nobody has a gear advantage in the class. Thanks this is my first question here after hanging around for a long time. we have built a few machines from just reading other post for last year or so. You guys are a great pit crew here.
