1  Engine Help / Briggs Flathead / Re: OPPOSED TWIN BILLET RODS on: Today at 05:00:20 PM
YES the OHV pistons have the thin rings and will work.
2  Engine Help / Briggs Flathead / Re: OPPOSED TWIN BILLET RODS on: Today at 04:53:53 PM
31 pistons are 3.56, stock oppy bore is 3.44. the block HAS to be bored and sleeved to install 31 pistons. when you assemble the engine roll ti over slow and check clearances between cam and rods and block, just to make sure. It is cheaper and easier to fix it now!

The reason she gets lost is, it's on her back, you know where it does the most good for someone lost! I can see her running in circles like a dog chasing its tail trying to read it!

13  General / Coffee Shop / Re: New Briggs & Stratton lawn mower engine never needs an oil change on: February 16, 2015, 07:29:54 PM
I been working on small engines sents 1989 and I always recomend changing the oil at lease once a year. But also relpaceing air, oil, and fuel filters.

Funny story,
I work at the Fix-it-shop about 10 years and a lady drop off her riding mower and said " It just stop running while I was cutting my one acre yard." She also told me that it has a two year warranty on the engine. So after checking the mower found it had no oil in engine and was lock up. I called the customer and told her it was not warranty. She got mad. I ask her why she didn't check the oil before cutting. She was told by the saleman at the local chain store that it is maintenance free and no maintenance was requried. She complain to the local chain store and they give her a new mower. But she come back to us and I show her how to check and keep her mower in good shape.  Now she come back ever year.
SO YOU CAN CHECK THE OIL!  LOL
