Sweet lil mower guys...

I've seen it run many times and also watched it be competitive in a very fast CP class. Paul even won a few of those CP races with this chassis and a single flat head (SP)

Brand Penn worked well for me and not as high priced as some of the others like Joe Gibbs, Royal Purlpe and so on.

I ran same class same club with Paul so I know what this looks like from behind. It's fast and clean, not all beat up. Paul builds them right and takes care of his equipment. Worth every dime.

It’s been a blast and I want to thank all those who helped me along the way! This is great sport, not sure when I ever had more fun doing anything. Made some great friends along the way and feel I’m leaving the sport better than when I started.  About 7 years of blood sweat and tears but with MUCH help along the way. Iowa is now a “hot bed” for mower racing. The Midwest is in great shape and growing: Dan and Doug with the River Bottom Raceway in Iowa along with Sid Woody and the NEW CILMRA President Marty Murphy aka Donkey Boy… The Illinois Posse & Tornow Brothers… Jon aka Rooster, Larry aka Teddy Bear in Kansas… Support from the USLMRA, Bruce, Kerry, Rich & Chrissy.

Maybe the one who had the most influence on me in this sport is none other than Mr. Easy Parcheesy himself Paul Krueger.

Well I didn't get the chance to race it Sunday so still brand new. It felt great when I tested before painting and final assembly though.

Brand new FXT chassis built over this past winter and unraced. I did shake it down for about 30 laps prior to painting it.

I think a conservative estimate on parts alone would be over 7k plus the well over 500 hours spent building it and any custom work I paid for like paint, powder coat, machine shop and so on. I don’t think you could start from scratch and build one like this for under 10k.

Needs a new home, not willing to discuss why but has nothing to do with money the mower or my love for the sport.

There will be a National USLMRA points race in Iowa at the end of June and I would be willing to hold on to it until then with a substantial down payment.

I have not decided if I will drive it while waiting to sell it or not. 1st scheduled race is this Sunday May 25th so if you want a brand new racer for ½ price you have a few days.

$6200 and PLEASE PLEASE no tire kickers. That is a very fair price and I will be happy to discuss all day with an interested party that has the ability to do this. I was in the process of applying decals when photos were taken. I have many more of the entire build process that I can share with the new owner.

V-Twin Tecumseh originally built by Brian Smith and completely gone through by George Herrin 8 races ago. I’m not the engine man but I can tell you it is a strong engine and fairly fresh. Oil, oil filter and air filter changed after every race without exception. Have been running Brand Penn 20 – 50 synthetic blend for 3 seasons. Prior to that I ran the Joe Gibbs racing oil.

Build started with a 2014 John Deere X500 frame and everything custom built from that point.
Hood is a 2014 Troy Bilt garden tractor (can’t remember model but they only make 1 garden tractor)

Fenders started as late 70s John Deere round fenders and fabricated to fit seat and chassis.

Drive line is the vert shaft Tecumseh with a 5” double belt billet aluminum pulley back to an 8” double belt billet aluminum pulley on a custom built LAGB. I have a Tomar (Quarter Master) 4 disc jackshaft clutch on the output of the LAGB. I had a local machine shop convert the clutch sprocket to 520. Then the 520 chain back to the 1 ¼ heavy duty rear axle. I have 3 sets of springs for the clutch, 2 clutch sprockets, several axle sprockets and 2 chains.
Has the best brake set up I could afford. 10” rear rotor with a Wilwood Dynapro caliper on the rear. Has the MCP 6” front brake set up. Dual Wilwood remote mount reservoir master cylinders mounted on Wilwood 60 degree dual master cylinder / pedal mount with a built in balance bar. All braided 4AN brake lines.

Steering is something you just have to see to understand. Set up kind of like a sprint car with a drag link down the right side of the chassis.

Fuel cell is 1 gallon foam filled powder coated with roll over protected vent.

Rear bumper is chrome molly heavy duty and removable. Front bumper is also chrome molly and is part of the chassis. Nerf / crash side bars are chrome molly and part of the chassis as well. 1 ¼” chrome molly front axle. All of these pieces were custom bent in my shop to fit this chassis. I have my own tube bender in the shop I bought just for this build.

Wheels are custom built bead locks (all 4) from OMF. 8 x 8 rears with billet centers. 6” fronts. All mounted up with new Hoosier treaded tires.
Brand new Mychron 4 tach. 3 leads; AIM, head temp and RPM.

Chassis was 100% powder coated Blue Streak II.

Sheet metal painted (base coat / clear coat) Troy Bilt red.

Engine tin was painted to match sheet metal.

New Braille B3121 battery.

Custom built exhaust runs down the inside of the frame rail and out over the deck on the right side.

The track is looking good to go this Sunday May 25th!! See ya all there!! Racing statrs at 2 PM, drivers please be early for tech and a short meeting. We will be drawing numbers at registration this year so the meeting won't take as long so please be ready to run hot laps at 2 PM sharp.

We did this last year as well, good time racing on the most famous sprint car track in the word!
