Another option is to reinforce the bolts in the external hole in the head.   I drilled a piece of flat steel that just fit into the hole.  Hold it tight and run a tap down through it installed in the head.  Use long bolts with red loctite.

I ran my FX engine 7500-7800 all the time with the EC dual springs.  Never had an issue.

Have any pics of that setup?

I thought you only ran the outer spring of the dual spring setup on the singles for that reason

Curious, I am seeing this more and more and wondering what advantages it has?  I'm building a 33 AVS now for the GP but may upgrade to CP, would it help to mount it backwards?  Just wondering why it's getting so popular lol

12  Engine Help / Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Oil Pressure port on: June 10, 2015, 09:16:46 PM
I have a 33ci AVS and I was gonna put an oil pressure gauge on it but it has no port to install a fitting.  Will it read accurate pressure if I tap into the housing?  I don't think it will but wanted to get a 2nd opinion.  I took a few pics, the one pic I'm pointing to a good spot to drill and tap but it is in the housing and not the passage to the lower journal.  I may be able to tap into that but it will be tricky

Does EC's rockers come with a bridge?  Hadn't paid that close attention.

I used to have some pics I got from Tommy Daniels back a couple years ago on how to make a stud bridge but have lost them.  Anyone have any pics they are willing to share on the subject?
