1  General / Mowmentum Magazine / Thank You all and Merry Christmas on: December 24, 2010, 09:09:49 AM
I don't dive too much into my personal life on here, but it's with a sincere thank you that I tell this story. The year of 2010 is one in which I grew a lot. Three months into the year, I was fired for standing on what I believed in. What followed was two months of wading through cow castings and fixing things others broke. I got back into the newspaper field, but for a part time job and lower pay than the dairy. I went to work at Tractor Supply Company part time, and added another job as a radio show host on Friday nights during football and basketball seasons. All this time I've continued Mowmentum (although I'm still behind almost a month now) and even published a calendar for 2011. My wife and I were concerned because even though our phones were always on the verge of getting shut off, we always managed to keep them on and food in our kids' bellies. So in mid November, I put together a calendar, sold it for more than I should have, and prayed. The response to the calendar was overwhelming. It was the best month I've ever had, and you're to thank. When magcloud deposited my November money, it was for $285 dollars. Most months, my profit from the magazine is around $100. Each month my wife asks why I continue to put time into the magazine, and I always tell her it takes time. Now, $285 dollars may not seem like much, but that deposit was more than I make a month at TSC and the radio combined. Thank you to all who have supported Mowmentum. Whether it was with a purchase or just moral support, you all helped the Turner family celebrate Christmas with the traditional presents. Now we can enjoy His presence all the more knowing that another Christmas miracle came true. Hug your children, your spouses or parents. It is the season of miracles.

Sincerely,

Aaron

4  General / Mowmentum Magazine / Look at the Months on: November 22, 2010, 09:13:42 AM
I have all the months done as well as all the birthdays on the days. I still have three pages to fill, so if anyone has any suggestions or funny stories, let me know. I should have them uploaded tonight.

I didn't put cutlines under each one because I figured the "Month" would suffice. Coast to coast represented, from Lake Michigan to the Gulf. Thanks for your interest. Will post a link on here when it's uploaded.
5  General / Mowmentum Magazine / "Day" advertisers on: November 17, 2010, 01:23:20 PM
I'm putting together little ads (no charge) for suppliers and organizers. Below is an example of February. If you'd like to be a part of this, let me know. I still need to make one for Precision. Kerry Evans and George, please send me your logos again as you both have been instrumental. These will be on any Calendar I generate as a thank you for either financial support or moral during the course of the first year. If you'd like to make your own, the size of the day is 1.472 inches wide by 1.146 inches tall. USLMRA, ARMA, SOMA, EC and ARC will be on every month. Anyone else that wants a spot, let me know and I'll randomly put you in.

7  General / Mowmentum Magazine / All American Comments on: November 16, 2010, 10:56:05 AM
I'm not going to break this down by class, so if you'd like to comment on the All American, state your quote, then sign the comment.

Example: "I heard my motor was running good 'til Tyler Frazier wrecked his machine. —Aaron Turner, Sportsman"
8  General / Mowmentum Magazine / Sam Rogers Memorial Comments on: November 16, 2010, 10:50:34 AM
If anyone would like to comment on the life of Sam Rogers or share a story, you may do so on this thread for the December Edition. Thanks in advance.
9  General / Mowmentum Magazine / The November Edition on: November 15, 2010, 01:07:03 PM
http://www.magcloud.com/browse/Issue/130359

ARMA finals results, USLMRA Hall of Fame inductions, Rooster's Chassis tips, Bert's Random Thoughts (very funny), heymow hints (excluding Howie's three-page thesis on random stuff), Brian Smith feature and much much more!
10  General / Mowmentum Magazine / Facebook fan of the month on: November 15, 2010, 08:21:17 AM
I figured since I have a facebook page, I can use some of the "fans" in it with a monthly "fan of the month" strip. This month, Carla Smith Lawrence.

11  General / Mowmentum Magazine / November Mowmentum Cover on: November 15, 2010, 08:20:06 AM
Should be on magcloud this afternoon. My work computer can't handle the size of the file, so I have to run down to the college's computer lab.

If you showed up at the ARMA finals, you're listed in here. Also, Rooster and Bert have columns, a feature on Brian Smith and several pictures. A big Thank You to Angie Ward Sanders. I used a bunch of her photos since I didn't make it to the Finals.
12  General / Mowmentum Magazine / 2011 Calendars on: October 29, 2010, 01:58:19 PM
Would anyone be interested in 2011 Calendars built specifically for clubs? Here is a January I put together from my archived pictures.

I would need approximately 40 pictures of different angles submitted. Call me, PM me or email me and we can iron out logistics.
13  General / Mowmentum Magazine / ARMA pictures on: October 27, 2010, 02:57:22 PM
If anyone has pictures from the finals, please email them to me for the November edition. I'd also take race results, regional championship standings and national championship standings as well. Thanks for the help. story_teller911@yahoo.com
14  General / Mowmentum Magazine / Heymow Hints: What did you learn from 2010 on: October 25, 2010, 08:01:32 AM
Since most of us (excluding the Brothers of the Blade and the Floridians) are relatively wrapped up for the season, what did you learn from 2010? Did it go as expected?

Aaron
(I promise this one heymow hints will make it in).
