Racing Mower Builds / 2020 BP Build
« on: January 03, 2020, 09:01:44 PM »
I've been posting this to my facebook racing page, Hayes Mowersports, but wanted to share here also.

This is my new BP build for 2020. Started out as all do,

Camshaft and a good port job. Get the crankshaft balanced, arc rod. Try to find an 11hp head. Need a worked over carb also.

Good combo but it wont run with the 33's. Need to go more on the head, I like .085. Don't run the double springs, the bolts will most likely pull out of the head or break the head. As I said on FB, get your pump pulse from the intake not the catch can.

I'd be interested in the front end if you want to ship it.

I'm not for sure but I think he is . Need to message him on fb or call to find out. I've always had great luck with Don. I have one of his cranks in my 33 right now.

Get ahold of Don Gienger at G-Team Racing. Did a great job on mine.

Just take the compression release off.

How much fuel comes out? Sounds like a fire often an much does a carb flood with a pump.will a pump be necessary for a mild mod engine ? Soryy for all the questions guys ,just wanna get it right

Mine very rairly leaks any out. If it does its not much. I doubt you need one.

Yes remove the choke, just fill the hole. On the venting part the only reason I know of is IF you are using a fuel pump. The vent will allow the excess fuel to leak out the vent if it over flows the bowl instead of flooding the carb.

Has anybody run the gteam and the precision. If so, which did you prefer and what size track were you running?

I've ran both and always had good dealings with Don but the Precision was better.

Not much out there for Kohler's. Zach Kerber is the only one I've really heard of. I know he builds a mean twin but I'm not sure what he offers for singles.
