« on: June 03, 2019, 08:46:23 AM »
Hey guys I just came across a briggs 303776 v twin motor for a few bucks so I picked it up.  Is this something I will be able to race?  If so where do you recommend getting parts for it?

Thank you

Coffee Shop / Mower handling issues
« on: August 07, 2018, 08:54:42 AM »
Hey guys, I'm having some chassis set up issues on my racer with a posi rear end.  I've tried different camber adjustments but now I'm thinking tire pressures are what I need to adjust.  The problem I am having is it is pushing pretty badly in a corner to the point where I have to spill a lot of speed to make the turn.  Any suggestions to what I can do for tire pressures?  I'm not sure what this would do and I don't have access to the track all the time since it's about an hour south of me.

Thank you much for the help

Hey fellas,

I have a briggs 31c707 motor laying around and a spare chassis and I would like to build a mod motor from this engine.  Which parts do I need to get this AVS motor into shape since I have heard the AVS motor needs a bit more.  Any and all help are greatly appreciated!!

Kohler Engines / Kohler CV490S build help
« on: August 24, 2017, 09:33:30 AM »
Hey guys.  I'm looking for some advice and maybe some part numbers for a kohler cv490s motor to make it run better.  What can be done to this motor and what parts should I get for it.  I'm already guessing flywheel and rod but after that I'm lost.

thank you in advance for the help

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Briggs 31C707 build help
« on: August 19, 2017, 08:27:55 PM »
I'm new to briggs engines and am wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction for a 31C707 Engine I aquired.  I am currently running a Kohler CV490S and I am getting hammered coming out of the corners.  I have tried different gearing to no luck, I'm either wound out or am lugging pretty bad coming out of the corner.  Everyone seems to be running briggs except one guy running a kawasaki and I'm getting tired of not having enough motor.  I would build up the kohler better but it seems like the parts are more expensive than the briggs so I'm tired of being the oddball of the bunch and am ready to switch to briggs.   I want more punch coming out of the corners without sacrificing top end.  I am open to anything guys.  Thank you again!

I have a 17hp ybsxs.5012vp motor I got from a friend for cheap.  Is it possible to get parts for this motor to make a decent racer out of it?  If so could you please point me in the right direction and possibly tell me where to start.  Thank you

Kohler Engines / offset keyway?
« on: July 27, 2015, 12:36:48 PM »
Ok back to the stock motor.  Trying to advance the timing on the stock motor but trying to figure out how far to advance it and I know I'm limited by the keyway offset.  I remember talking to cromwell on the phone about it but I can't remember and I have lost his number.  Anyone have ideas?

Kohler Engines / How much can I up the compression on a stock CV490s
« on: July 06, 2015, 03:19:36 PM »
I am running a governed stock class type mower.  I was thinking of getting rid of the stock head gasket and making a thinner copper gasket to maybe up the ratio a tad.  How thin of a gasket can I run for clearance reasons and how much compression will the stock connecting rod take before it go boom?

thank you in advance

Kohler Engines / how does kohler adjust there HP?
« on: August 25, 2013, 06:53:25 AM »
I know Briggs does a lot of their hp by carbueration but how does Kohler set the horsepower on their stock motors? Is it with the carb or do they do something different? I have a 17 hp Kohler and want it to be 19, how do I do this basically

Thank you again guys

Kohler Engines / kohler top end won't clear out
« on: July 07, 2013, 03:56:21 PM »
Hey guys I'm running a Kohler cv490s in my racer right now but I can't seem to get it to clear up on the top end. I noticed the lmk carb doesn't have a high speed adjustment.... Any idead or advice would be appreciated. I have a billet flywheel on it currently if that helps.... I was thinking of maybe making a plug for the bottom of the bowl and limiting the amount of fuel at WOT...

Thank you

What would I be better off with? Not really sure I'm posting in the right spot but I'm leaning towards the briggs but not really sure, that's where you guys come in :)
