It all depends on the rules you are going to run with.
If it is your first build, you may want to look into GP class.

Not for the stock class. But you can cut up 2 inakes and use a carb
that mounts with a hose.

Here are the USLMRA rules. There should be an updated set
For 2019 season coming out in the next while, I would
not expect any great changes, maybe a tweak or two.
This set should get you an idea on where to be

We race with a set of rules that states anything over governed speed needs a Billet Flywheel.
The oppy in a finicky animal, you better do some oil mods {found in search} if you want to go over
the governed speed.

With the governor removed you should have a Billet Flywheel.

As far as I know Honda motor is not legal in CP

Honda did have a vertical motor in a lawn mower, I worked on the only one I ever saw,
it came in the mower shop I worked at one time. I wanted to buy it from the customer.. LOL

If you have Facebook, look up Carrier Performance, he is your Canada dealer for race mower parts. His new built mower just won on the first race out.

We all try to save some time and money where we can. Steering and brakes are not
the two places to do that. So get you some good 1 x 2 thick wall for the front beam
and get you the well your own parts from EC to finish it off, and have some good
steering geometry to boot.

Thanks - I figured they were different.  I havent taken it apart yet, but I assume yes it has a screen/pickup in the sump.   I guess I will plan on getting it welded.  I assume that the material is cast aluminum?

There are 3 different styles of pans that all bolt on, you have to take it off and look.

Worst crossbar as you call it in the mowers.
Out of the 40 mowers I have torn down, only
about 3 were not damaged to reuse on a grasscutter.
I sent you a message.

Stock mtd front ends are for mowing. So nothing is what I would advise.
