Title: Rear Bearing Size?
Post by: LC on October 17, 2013, 03:09:07 pm
What are your thoughts on rear bearing size?

1.25 x 2.440 OD vs 1.25 x 2.835

No so much about price, the cassetts are the same price, the larger cermaic bearings are about x5 on the price and the steel bearings are about x3.

I see an advantage in the cassettes for the small bearing because there is a lot more material there (stronger?)

My question is will the larger bearing spin more freely and last longer (faster and more dependable)?

Honestly Curt, I would want as big a bearing as I could get.  A larger bearing handles more load, turns slower and runs cooler.
