As far as I know Honda motor is not legal in CP

Honda did have a vertical motor in a lawn mower, I worked on the only one I ever saw,
it came in the mower shop I worked at one time. I wanted to buy it from the customer.. LOL

If you have Facebook, look up Carrier Performance, he is your Canada dealer for race mower parts. His new built mower just won on the first race out.

We all try to save some time and money where we can. Steering and brakes are not
the two places to do that. So get you some good 1 x 2 thick wall for the front beam
and get you the well your own parts from EC to finish it off, and have some good
steering geometry to boot.

Thanks - I figured they were different.  I havent taken it apart yet, but I assume yes it has a screen/pickup in the sump.   I guess I will plan on getting it welded.  I assume that the material is cast aluminum?

There are 3 different styles of pans that all bolt on, you have to take it off and look.

Worst crossbar as you call it in the mowers.
Out of the 40 mowers I have torn down, only
about 3 were not damaged to reuse on a grasscutter.
I sent you a message.

Stock mtd front ends are for mowing. So nothing is what I would advise.

If the clutch has loose tolerance on the shaft, it can break or back out the bolt.

Honda and Clone Engines / Re: offroad mower

We do not do offroad mowers, a predator 212 is not a common motor used in mower racing.
Things are slow right now, and the mass of members are not around to answer questions.
Do a search on 212 and see what you come up with. Maybe you could send a message to one
of the members who use them in one of the few clubs that may use that motor.
Go-karts use this motor as well as some mini bikes guys. You may want to try one of those sites
to help dial in your setup.

Question: where is a good place to buy parts?
I looked at bmikarts for parts of the axle and 2 wheels but shipping alone will send me back 150 dollars.
A good shop somewhere in the e.u. would probably save me some extra money

The E.U. all buy from the US what they can't make. Shipping will always be the highest cost.

A whole month and 118 different views and nobody and nothing. Not even somebody getting mad at me for it not being a lawnmower project

Thanks for nothing

I been moving and had no internet for a month, too hard to scold someone on a cell phone...
Now that I got internet back....  :ninja: :ninja: :bday:

New to forum, new to wanting to mower race.  I'm perusing through Craigslist and there are many affordable mower candidates, but I don't know where to start.  For starters, I want to participate in the local fairground's mower race this year and need to start building a racing mower.  Fabrication is not a problem, I just need a base to start with.  What is the most common size mower motor for Joe-adult wanting to get into the sport?  I have no aspirations of making it to the NASCAR of mower racing, me and the boys just want to have some fun and some beers.  Thx.

What does the engine rule state you can run?

Could be a weak starter(there is a test for that), weak battery(detectable with a load test), or loose lash on valves as well. Rule those out first.
