so ive had this 16hp vanny for a while but just finally got around to installing it in the mower. Ran it today and noticed it sounded like it had a bit of a knock. im attaching a video of what it sounds like when its not running and i move the flywheel back and forth. Any help would be awesome.

Kohler Engines / horzontal and vertical interchangability!!
« on: September 15, 2006, 12:59:44 am »
I have a friend who is willing to give me a vertical shaft kohler command v twin and i was wandering if all the parts for the horizontal shaft motors are interchangable with the vertical shaft engines. if so you could build a mean kohler if not then its no more than a boat anchor to me because it needs major head work to get it running again. any help would be greatly appreciated.

does anybody know of a place on line where i can get  these belts? ive tryed the local mower shops and they wont give me the time of day unless i have a make and model of my mower. i tell them that its for a racing mower and they laugh at me. any help would be appreciated.

« on: May 14, 2006, 10:31:42 pm »
ive got a 700 series peerless and it cost me a race this weekend because it kicked out of gear causeing me to spin out. what would cause it to do this? it was just recently rebuilt with new shifter keys, cleaned out all the grease and added gear oil.

Driveline / 700 peerless help
« on: April 06, 2006, 10:07:21 pm »
ok i went and ordered the usual beef up parts for the 700 peerless(steel input and bevel gears and etc.) well today i went and pulled my tranny apart to put in the new parts but was soon stumped on how the steel bevel gear goes in. the bevel gear thats in the tranny has another gear on the side of it(im guessing this is 1st gear), but the new bevel gear doesnt have this and i have no idea on how to make this work with out it. any and all help will be appreciated.

thanx,
Bill

Chassis / lightening
« on: April 03, 2006, 10:17:21 pm »
yes, the lighter the mower the quicker it is. to make it light you strip off anything that doesnt make it faster or safer. It all depends on the chassis too. some mowers are just lighter than others. hope this helps
