Here is a Facebook Event
https://www.facebook.com/events/210321205779277/
This event is going to be AWESOME!
From Illinois Lawn Mower Racing Association and Tampico (IL) LMRA President Todd Tornow:
"The TLMRA and ILMRA are very excited to have a USLMRA points race at TNT Speedway Tampico, Illinois. Our members are all smiling from ear to ear knowing that this race is coming to our turf. That is all that is being talked about by all the members of the associations we are going to eat and sleep this race we can't wait for it to get here.
"TNT Speedway is located 2 miles outside of Tampico, Illinois. This track is bad fast It is Approximately 872 feet around the track in the racing line. Straightaways are approximately 200 to 220 feet and wide sweeping corners. The track width all the way around the track is 30 to 35 feet which leaves a lot of racing grooves. TNT Speedway is known for being a very fast drying track so some rain is not a problem it will be raceable again in a hour or 2."

Are we allowed to camp at the site?
-
Yes you can camp at the track!! Here is a link to a campground that is 10 minutes from the track also.

Hoping to fill up all these rooms guys it's going to be a great event with a lot of high speed action. Who is planning on coming so far?
-
The description of the track sounds great! Schedule permitting we would love to come and plan on being there! Its only 250 miles or so, I will see if any people from my club want to come with as well. Thank you for putting on this race!
This track sounds like it is very similar to Grasscar's track down in Ft. Meyers.
-
Really looking forward to this event cant wait... should be a good time... should be there with no problem ;)...
-
Here is a picture of one of our races at TNT Speedway See how nice and wide the track is and plenty of racing room!!

Wow there is a TON of passing room there. That will make for some great racing instead of follow the leader. Looks like you guys have a really nice track.
-
Yeah no follow the leader on this track plenty of racing and passing lines!! Lets here from more people that are coming to this race!! BAD FAST track!!
-
Should have sp, Cp, and fxs there.
-
That's great Drew!!
I have another block of rooms at a hotel in Rock Falls so is same distance from the track as the other 2 but much more higher priced.
Country Inn and Suites the price is $109 per night here is a link that the block of rooms is linked to http://www.countryinns.com/stabil

-
Tampico is a small quiet town. Although you can still have fun. As we all will at this race. I wanted to let it be known that I might celebrate with a fircracker of somesort... Hopefully at least some sparklers.

Work? You mean you finely went back to work, won't that cut in to your mower racing. How on earth are you finding time for work with traveling to every national race in the country.
Just kidding Alex, I hope to see ya at some races this year.

great clean racing thanks to all that came
-
Well we made it home!!!! Was a late night but well worth it! Track is amazing. Super smooth and FAST! Loads of good clean racing.
Was good seeing old friends and meeting many new ones!!
I had some engine problems on the BP but still had a great time. Did I mention the track was FAST! I was clocked at 52 MPH on the back stretch on my FXT. If I had more gears it would of been faster.
Great track and awesome people. They had everything they needed to make the track awesome both days.
-
There are 2 kinds of speed guns; some read faster than actual, and some read slower. I think that one was a slow gun! Paul was flying low (when he passed me) We are home safe, but tired after working today. Enjoyed my weeekend a bunch. Thanks to all for their help!
-
It was great racing with you Doc! Wish I had more time visit with you. Sunday was busy!!!! And Saturday I was wrenching.
I had no idea I was even going that fast. Got to admit these new style machines are awesome.
-
Thanks Posse! Event was ran very smoothly and nice track. Get well Todd and how about that Smitty!!!!
-
think smitty had angle wings helping him fly this weekend. he was untouchable. very fun battle has started....illinois red vs iowa pink
you guys are a blast on and off the track
-
Hmmmmmm. A border war? East side vs West side? Sounds like we need a trophy next year!!!!!!
Smitty was the man! To dominate that class like he did was impressive. Equallly impressive was Tyler Frasier on his SP. There wasn't a SP that could even give him a good run. I'm glad I have parked my SP for the season!!!!
Actually all the mowers were great. I'm impressed at the quality and how much faster the classes have got. The sport is maturing very fast!!!
Now my voice is gone. I'm not sure if it is the TOXIC Illinois dirt or that I passed up on the Wisconisin apple pie. May of been all the dirt I ate when I did the doughnuts in the infield between the ponds.
-
you did disapear in a cyclone of dirt on the fxt
tyler is very fast. he dominiated just like that in michigan after he got his carb fixed.
i would be up for a border war.. found out my bp front axle was bent 1/2 from a wheel stand it did in the shop yard. hope to have it fixed and handle better and give you a good run next time
-
Thanks everyone who came to our event i hope everyone had a good time!!! great racing and a fast track!!! Thanks to the USLMRA staff for running a great show!! It will happen again next year!!
-
Yep, I think Tyler Frasier's K motor has opened up a whole new can of worms in the S/P class!
What a blast, everybody! I hope to be at TNT speedway next year with a G/P and an FX/S. Cheering on the sidelines is fun, but I'd rather be racing!!
-
How ya feeling Todd?
-
pretty sore Curt i have to have surgery on my collarbone Thursday and i have 4 cracked ribs also!! but i will be back!! thanks for asking!!
-
Get well soon Todd!!!
-
thanks Paul!!
-
And I forgot the trophys!!!!! This place gives awesome trophys!!!! HUGE checker flags for first place!!!!
Awesome metals for 2-6.
And just to stir the pot..............6 of those flags went back to IOWA!!!!!!!
-
Just a reminder to everybody. the wife took over 1,000 pictures, plus videos on Saturday, and a bunch more Sunday. She is working on getting them all posted but it will take a while. More are being posted each day! Check them out, they are there for all you racers, so enjoy! Facebook: Tampico lawnmower racing pictures. Leave her a message to let Jeanne know if you like them!
-#151 Glenn Essex
P.S. awesome racing with you guys and gals!
-
I've liked it!!!! And she takes great pics!!!!!
-
I feel for you Todd..... I understand what the broken ribs feel like. Broke 5 when throttle spring broke my first year at indoor race and hit concrete. The next years rule books made multiple springs mandatory and that is one rule I exceed the expectations! Get well Todd!
-
Thanks guys!! A huge thank you to all the racers that came and supported our first ever national race it was a huge success!! For those of you that didn't make it you missed a great time and some awesome racing hopefully you can make it next year!!

We were sad to have missed your race. Also, there were a lot of people we met in Iowa we wished to have seen. We heard the speeds there were incredible, and would love to get going that fast for sure! I'm just glad our friends from Florida who came had a safe and good time! See you guys next year!
