Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Coils?
« on: June 01, 2017, 04:34:55 pm »
I was wondering where everyone is getting there coils, I bought my set through NAPA (70-1646). I believe they are breaking down at 7400rpm. I am actually using them on my Tecumseh, but we use the same coils as a intek. Thanks

So what is the problem with building a 50ci tecumpseh twin? What is the part that makes them blow up so quick? Are people having the sleeves fall out? Broken rods?

Coffee Shop / Rules question
« on: January 01, 2015, 11:19:49 pm »
For a supermod frame, I'm using murry wide body rails, I know others widen rails to 13in.

My question is can I legally move the rails out to 15 inches, and if I can't why?

Has anyone ever attempted a right rear pan hard to raise or lower the right rear wheel to make drastic adjustments, or quick adjustments during pace laps?

Coffee Shop / Right angle gear box
« on: December 21, 2014, 10:24:36 pm »
How do the peerless right angle gear boxes hold up to a pulley drive system? Do the gears ever brake like in a 700, and how long do they last?

Coffee Shop / Motor issues
« on: June 28, 2014, 08:04:45 pm »
Okay guys I have no idea what my motors issue is, I have a tvt 691, heads are shaved .135, copper head gaskets, arc rods, 410 cam, flywheel, intake valves have been lightened, I had to make one custom length pushrod for one of the intake valves (the pushrod is 1/16in longer than all the others)

So last weekend I somehow finished the race with a blown base gasket,( I think because the base vent filter was dirty), two blown head gaskets, and the pushrod that is a little bit longer was bent( if the pushrod isn't that little but longer it will pop the push rod out and off the rocker)

Has any one had this pushrod issue befor? I'm starting to wonder if it might be the cam lobe on the one cylinder

Any thoughts??

Coffee Shop / Rings
« on: May 22, 2014, 10:20:56 pm »
How long should it take for rings to break on a new built v twin? I have low compression and compression is different on each cylinder( my compression gage is old too, but still different compressions?)
Maybe a little over a hour on this motor

« on: May 19, 2014, 09:43:46 pm »
Okay guys I'm running a 7in motor pulley and a 4in trans pulley, my belt is slipping bad coming out of the corners, if I jump to a 5 in trans pulley, will this fix the slipping issue? By the way, it's a brand new belt

Driveline / 2nd gear
« on: May 19, 2014, 07:04:26 am »
Will the 700s hold up to racing in second gear, I know we are suppose to race in third, but at our small tracks I need to go down a gear , because I don't have a smaller sprocket to run it in third gear
