Driveline / jack shaft pulley sizes

i im running a 6.5 engine to 4.5 bottom to 6.5 top to 4.5 transaxle on a 6 speed spicer..are the jack shaft pulleys suppose to the same size?? does any on run a simlier setup with succsess...cant seem to find a gear that pulls threw the straights..are my pulley sizes all wrong..12.5 flathead ..any help would be awsome..thanks 5200rpms max.

does a 12.5 have a larger pistion than a 10 hp..trying to find what i got? no shroud on engine ..can you tell by the carb numbers or any thing else visibley.. carb number is 4993 walbro. also scibed 2220 / 497119 and 61..any help would be appricated..thanks..fly wheel larger,smaller???

running a12.5 flat head and runs good but im wondering if there is a motor out there that would out preform it..going to a race with 12.5 hp and under limit...all stock with the exception of the removal of governor and k and n air filter..thanks

Briggs Flathead / 12.5 flat head ring filing

tring to help out my friend with a 12.5 flat head. stock bore.stock pistion got 16-17 tho ring gap.can only find 20 over rings,was told buy briggs they dont sell 10 over.is it possible to make my 20 rings to get .003-.005 gap in the stock bore and stock piston????? was told the ring will egg. anybody done this with success.thanks... did 20 pistion with 30 over ring and worked good . but not stock to 20 over.

i race on a feild track and is pretty ruff. my 12.5 blows .5 a liter of oil in about 10 laps . is there a better valve cover?? oil looks muddy too. driving me crazy !!!! g0t about 600 in engine parts and machine shop. any one got a fix . thanks

is there any chance to find pictures of how and where to take off material for more flow on a12.5 flat head.is it from valves.block.intakeexhast????probly asking for alot?thanks i read alot on here and heard the 12.5 is lacking the flow..

does anyone know what the compression should be on a stock 12.5.flat head.basic rebuild.just wondering for a referance.briggs manual doesnt say.thanks for any info.

whats the best belts to use on a jack shaft setup. after about 5 laps seem to get belt slipage when im laying on it pulling out of the corner.belts are tight but seem to strech.running half inch hd belts from lordco.think its the front belt slipping.

im trying to find out if my motor has compreeion release.only got 50psi compression. engine shop did 20 over line bore new piston @ rings con rod new intake@ exhast valves@ springs leak checked. shaved head @block. timing markeslined up.fly key good a picture or discipion would be awasome ::confused:thankyou
