It may be several weeks before I get the time. I had hoped someone local would grab the parts because of my schedule but if it’s still here I’ll let you know.

I have several parts I've collected over the last few years for a mower project that fate has decided to cheat me out of. I have to move and don't have the room to keep them. I'm willing to give them away to a good home if someone is willing to pick them up. They're located in The Dalles Oregon and I'm only there on weekends and only for a few more. Hopefully they will go to a good home!

Wow, lots of info here. Thanks all! And Salty, I'm sure I'll have a few questions even after checking out build.

Well, I went and did it. I found a little basket case Craftsman 36" 8hp for super cheap and have been spending my time trying to get it to run. Finding information on these seems difficult at best. I remember seeing one run at Wamic on Labor Day in I believe the Powder Puff race (but I'm not sure). My hope is that someone might be able to give me an approximate model year. According to the PDF posted elsewhere this number makes it an 80's engine? The body style doesn't support my findings though.
 The engine model # is:191707.
 The Mower model # is:536-81 360 ND3
If I'm interpreting the class rules correctly I can build this for A/P class but I want to double check before I spend too much.

Here's the pics I took. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v324/comminatchalive/Resized%20Mower/

Thanks

Thanks guys. You put on a good race Jim. This seems like a great way to spend time and I'm sure I'll come up with some questions to pick your brains if you don't mind.

Hey guys. I'm Rick from The Dalles, Oregon. My wife and I have been out to Wamic a couple of times to watch them run. They were kind enough to put me out on the track on a mower. I ran unbelievably slow due to paranoia (did NOT want to chance doing any damage to a mower that wasn't mine.) I've got the bug and bought a mower to build. Looking forward to learning all I can and getting back on a track!
