Yes Ken there is some racing in Maine. There are some small groups here and there. We at ARMA have tried to get some bigger races here but its tough to work it out into something that works. Where are you located? If you are in lower part of state some  of us go to Mass, NH or VT to race. There is a small track in Saco and a group in Bangor. You can call me if you want and we can talk more about it.

I agree with Jeff for the most part. We put all kinds of money into billet everything and then ask the stock cast piston to hold up its end of the deal. But the cylinder condition you talk about has happened to one of my motors also and would be really interested to find out what causes that problem. I would like to bore it .020 but not sure it wont happen again.

The crank should have been balanced and the counter balance parts should have been removed.

Steve we don't do enough to insure the future of this sport. So if I got to get build clinics outside my area so we can get new guys involved then it must be done. I really wish that more clubs and some of the old timers that have brought this sport to where it is today would step up and do more clinics and promoting Mower racing it would make it easier on everyone if everybody did just a little parts of the promotion work that mower racing needs. Billy is being taken care of just fine. LOL

Hope to see you come out and check some ARMA racing. There will be a lot of ARMA racing in the New England and PA area this summer. Be sure to read up on rules if you plan to travel. Nothing worse then building something that only works at one track and then the owner decides to stop racing and you have no place to go after with what you built. Looking like we will be getting a build clinic together in the PA area sometime soon also, stay tuned.

Make sure you get the rods with the bearing inserts. I have some that were just billet aluminum and they scored very quickly and now I can't use them on new motor without having them machined to take ARC bearings. I have also called a number of times to get some replacement rings and nobody ever answers the phone so good luck.

This is one of those questions again that has a lot of variables to it.  Give us all the info to what you are doing and then we can say more.  If you don't want do that then .050 is safe.
