Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Avs vs non avs
« on: November 08, 2015, 03:51:30 am »
Hey guys just a quick question have been searching and haven't found an answer I'm looking for. Is there a way to tell if a motor is avs or non avs without tearing it down? It no longer has serial numbers that can be read

Chassis / Second chasis build ...first by myself
« on: October 17, 2015, 10:15:27 am »
Hey guys I snapped the frame in the cp this year and I got it patched but I kept losing belts so I think it's time for a new chasis. I was going to do a newer style cub but I ended up with a murray/craftsman frame with the 19.5 hp opposed twin engine so I may end up using this step through

Other Engines / 19.5 hp opposed twin build
« on: October 12, 2015, 01:55:33 pm »
Hey guys just picked this motor up with a good frame for 20.00. I want to build it to run in my cp that currently has a hot tecumseh. Now this is new ground for me so any help whether advice tips or anything will be greatly appreciated. I was told there is a way to build the stock carb up and I'd like to do billet, crankshaft, rods, bore (to what size ?) Big cam and probably run a spacer in the heads for less compression and a little more static compression....I want this thing to be  a torque god

« on: July 12, 2015, 12:35:56 am »
Hey guys I have posted on here before but I figured hey I'm still new so il just start over. This is my first year racing in gp class and I finally found a good gear set I like alot. Problem is corners I don't have the pull like I use to so I had heard about a technique where you clutch it I'm the corner and floor it and drop the clutch in the apex to get that extra jump any ideas or comments on this would be awesome

Driveline / Peerless 700 not shifting into 4 and 5
« on: July 06, 2015, 02:41:49 pm »
Hey guys I just got another 700 and I went through cleaned all the benonite grease out and put shift keys in from another transmission which look identical and after getting it all together it would shift 1st through 3rd and won't go into 4th or 5th. We went through and checked the gears and washers even swapped washers to make sure that wasn't the problem and no luck. Anyone have anything on this I'm stumped and I have a race sat.

Driveline / Better corner speeds with stock tranny
« on: February 22, 2015, 11:11:13 pm »
Hey guys I will be running an older model (murray) chasis with a 16 hp tecumseh this year. I just bought this tractor and it has a stock transmission which the previous owner was having issues with getting beat on corners. It's still a one wheel wonder his weld broke. Now my question is if I slide a straight axle through the stock differential will that help me get out of the corners. To at least be close to the guys that run  with kart axles and 700 peerless tranys
