Title: Tecumseh piston
Post by: trbinrat on July 17, 2013, 07:25:48 pm
As I near the end of my kawi flat engine build. I am planning my next project. Is there an after market piston available for the single or are people just using the stock piston. I'm not apposed to boring and sleeving. At this time money is no object as this is just the planning and parts finding stage.

So, what's this oil through the carb thing all about? Never had any oil in my carb. In fact, the closest oil gets to my carb is the oil filter, which happens to be just under it..

Mark, the stock pistons work fine if you have or can find a good one. Rings are a bit more of a challenge however.

Thanks ED. I wasn't sure if there was an alternative. I do have a good piston and block as a starting point and was going to explore Honey Badgers recommendation for the rings from Hastings.

Ya Steve it's hard to go fast when you have pieces of gooey o-ring in the carb.  I usually change them at the beginning
of the year but got lazy and it bit me.
