I was just scanning through craiglist at work today and saw these, and wondered if anyone has turned one into a racer. I was thinking about seeing if I could get them for $150. Just curious

Briggs Flathead / Re: Cheap ways to wake up a 12.5 hp B&S

For now its just going to be running in our local group. But I would like to eventually run a twin in it. Right now it has a 42 inch wide front end with a 43 inch wheelbase. I'm going to have yo cut the front floor panel down cuz at 42 I still can't turn fully. Got another 2 weeks to get it done. I'll try to post more pictures of it soon.

Thanks its been a challenge but its been fun. Still have to do a lot of work. In that picture its just a rolling chassis with all the panels on. Got a bunch of parts to add. Been thinking about maybe adding a twin engine too. But I just want to get this motor going for now and change it up later.

Building up a rear engine John Deere S82 lawn mower which has a 12.5 hp Briggs flathead in it. I'm already going over my budget and was wondering cheaper ways to wake it up, or atleast until I get some more money around.

Tires / Van-K Half Rims???
« on: August 08, 2011, 11:45:31 am »
Hey guys, does anyone use the Van-K half rim setup for their mowers. Just curious if anyone has used them and what they think of them. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
