LOL
Some "newbies" are intimidated, and they shouldn't be! That is one of the things that truly makes Mower Racing the best. Even the most seasoned pro's make time to help out the new racers. Almost all the people in this sport are great guys, well natured easy going and fun to be around!

Yep join i have not met a mower racer that i could not get alomg with or didnt answer any dumb questions i had. Its an amazing group of guys with more wisdom than an encyclopedia.

Idiots are out ice fishing here already.

So I'm guessing y'all have already gotten some real cold weather ed?  I don't think of be ice fishing.  55 degrees is to cold for,  much less enough cold weather to make ice.

Hi Greg.

Where you from?
If you're gonna race in Texas I highly recommend circle track instead of drag mowers. I've done both and let me just say youll have more races if your a circle track and join the lsmra. Drag mowers really are fun, but they dont have the safety and security that the circle track mowers do.

1:Like I said not to discourage your creativity circle track is better.

2: The motor should have a little metal tag with some numbers on it. Somewhere on the top or the side of the motorhood. Im not exactly on an oppy. The transaxle should have some numbers on the bottom side somewhere ifbi remember correctly. If its an older craftsman. It should have a five speed peerless 700 model.

3: it should be welded easily.

4: On my drag mowers i always had a higher ratio. If you go lsmra there are rules depending on class you chose.

5:Dont cheap out on brakes. They are important.

6: Ride height is important for drag and circle. Very important.

7: Im from texas too youll have all the help you need if you juat pay attention to the advice given.
