Title: FC420v Carb
Post by: Mowerstompin on July 17, 2013, 10:51:13 am
I'm using a carb from the FC420v on my kohler command single right now. My question is the jets. Which is the main jet? Theres one the screws into the side of tube in the center on the bowl, and theres one in the center of the tube. Is the one on the side a pilot jet and the one in the center a main jet?

Thanks!
Cody

THE ONE ON THE SIDE IS YOUR MAIN HIGH SPEED JET.

Quick question, what would make the mower run great for about 5min, then go flat on yea? It's almost like It runs out of fuel or something? I've got a full tank, new fuel line, the fuel filter is clean looking (might need to change and see If that fixes anything), and the carb/motor runs great idling/rev'ing. When you take it out for a stroll and full throttle it for a little bit it will eventually just want to die and then you have to fight it to keep it running but eventually dies on yea, then It takes a minute to start it back up.

Ideas? Anything on this matter would be great

Thanks!
Cody

make sure tank is vented through the cap, or another way.

Might need a fuel pump

Yea I blew though the cap where the vent is and It didn't seem stopped up or anything, so I don't believe It would be that. Fuel pump seems to be pumping enough fuel but can they just get weak or something?

Check the fuel lines. Could be a line that has separated on the inside. I've seen fuel line just a few months old separated.

The fuel lines good, I'm using new red line I bought from EC about a week ago, so don't believe It would be that. I'll check the filter and pump (Dunno how to do that, I mean It pumps).

But I'll let you guys know If I fix It, It'll be a few days though before I'm able to go back down where It at and work on it.

Anyways fellas, Thanks much!
