I was hoping this was going to be my "rookie" year.  But one thing or another is keeping me from working on my mower. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!  I hope to be out this year. I may be late to the party but I'm trying my best to be there. Especially after meeting all the GREAT people I have met!

Chassis / Re: Brake Pedal Question

I think BoNewCo has one of the coolest brake pedal/mastercylinder mounts around. I just can't figure out how to mount it so I can get my fenderdeck off without removing the brake pedal setup.  As soon as I get that figured out I 'm gonna buy me one of them rascals!!

Trivia question. Do you know why it's WD40?

PLEASE DO NOT CUT UP THE 70 TO MAKE A RACE MOWER!!!!!!!  There are a lot better mowers out there to use as a base. That would be better restored as there are not that many out there.

I use a product called Fluid Film. Better than WD40.  It's lanolin based and was developed for the Navy to keep boat hulls from rusting when in drydock. Been around since like the 40's. Great stuff. You can usually find it at your local John Deere dealer.

One reason they don't tell you what motors to use is because one person can make a motor run great whereas another might only get the same motor to run so-so. It's up to you to research and figure it out.  What works for one doesn't always work for another.  ONE more thing. Motor is only PART of the equasion. Chassis is as much if not more important than motor. If you can't get the power to the ground, what fgood is all that power?  Many underpowerd mowers have won against much stronger engines. It's all in how you get it there.

John,  I am slowly trying to get my L130 built.  It's going slower than I was expecting. Too many other things keeping me from working on the mower. Got the front axle mount welded in today.  I'm HOPING to have it done by the middle of the season.  One thing or another keeps interrupting me.

Started out drag racing 1/4 mile, started with slow cars and finally ended in a Top Alchohol dragster.  Did some tractor pulling in between racing. Big super stocks and multi engine modifieds as well as mini modifieds. Won 2 state championships with the mini's.  Did a little roundy round stuff on dirt and asphalt.  Sold EVERYTHING years ago, got back into street rods and now here we are. Building a MOD XR for lawn mower racing.  I can't wait to get it finished and get to race it.  Also collect and restore antique John Deere tractors, big and small.

I have seen what the inside of a Fram filter looks like.  I have not and will not ever use them.  I don't care what anyone else says I would never use them.  Sorry.

I reposted over on the Yelow Bullet site and those guys are voting for him also.  Something has to be messed up with their system.  I really can't believe there are that many MG people out there.  The first time the Bullet guys voted it jumped Joey way up.  I think the fix is in!!  Something smells fishy in Denmark!!
