Title: vanguard crank
Post by: mowcephus on February 23, 2014, 10:01:52 pm
Is their any difference in a 20 hp vanguard vtwin crank and a 14hp?  I have two cranks so I'm trying to determine which cranks I have.

Yes, they have a different stroke. The 14/16hp cranks have a 2.60" stroke and the 18-23hp cranks have a 2.75" stroke

Is their a visible difference?  Neither of these cranks or in a block.

Can you put a 18/20hp vangaurd crank in a 14/16hp vanny and then shave the piston tow flat top?
