Briggs Flathead / Re: Dirt bike carburator?
« on: October 12, 2021, 07:31:35 pm »
37.3 second of search time on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/KIPA-Carburetor-Briggs-Stratton-10-32XL/dp/B0787WF2FC/ref=sr_1_18?dchild=1&keywords=walbro+56+carburator&qid=1634080806&sr=8-18

It isn't EXACTLY a Walbro 56...

Head over to EC Carbs buy:

Velocity stack: https://www.eccarburetors.com/EC-WalbroBriggs-LMT-Carburetor-Velocity-Stack_p_418.html

Adjustable needle: https://www.eccarburetors.com/EC-Adjustable-Needle-for-Briggs-LMT-Walbro-Carburetors_p_1628.html

You might need a few other parts from EC (or your local Lawn Mower shop if you know how to direct them to look things up)

Now all you have to do is get out the dremel tools and get to work, I'm sure there are lots of threads here to let you know where to cut, where to vent. ETC.

it'll go zero to hurt in about 60 seconds if you don't first make it safe. Steering, c-clips, stock wheels, brakes. safety safety safety.

As far as the real answer... do some more research on gear ratios and you'll be able to figure that out.

My AP has a lever similar to this;

http://www.tecnokart.com/10/en_clutch_lever.html

Motorcycle cable from the lever to the master cylinder..... hand operated brakes...

Really, not very hard to build at all.

Since you are new, the USLMRA rules state that you must run one of the other classes for a season before you can drive in the classes that allow the kart seats.

That being said, The seat is simply mounted to the frame and the fenders are reworked to fit.

Coffee Shop / Re: HEARTBLEED security Exploit. HeyMow is affected
« on: April 14, 2014, 08:32:21 am »
Test it for yourself..

https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/index.html

Heymow is NOT susceptible to the heartbleed bug. SSL or Secure Socket Layer technology is not used to log into this site. Only SSL version 1.0.0 through version 1.0.1 is effected by the bug. NO ONE knows if ANY BAD GUY has even figured out how to exploit this bug. The bug has actually been available for misuse for TWO years. I will point out that on several other factors heymow does fail as a secure website. But then again it is just a forum and doesn't need heavy encryption routines to protect sensitive data.

The websites you should test are your banking and shopping sites where an exploit might mess with your money. If a hacker wants to get my login password for heymow... well um okay maybe I shouldn't use the same password for my bank account......

yes is the short answer. Both the model 28 flathead section and the model 31 non-avs section have parts you you can use. The only parts not compatible between the two are piston assemblies and OEM blocks.

Go to http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and look up the parts diagrams for the engine you have. Study that a little. It will help you know what you have and what you will need.

Coffee Shop / Re: New phone ?
« on: March 19, 2014, 08:49:28 am »
Well there are marked differences in the manufacture quality of phones..... I find LG phones to be weak in signal strength in my area, Samsung phones I have used have a much better signal. Motorola work very well too. Iphones work very good.

There are large differences in carriers too. ATT&T in my area has spotty coverage, Sprint works great, Verizon (I just switched to them from 12 years with AT&T) works very good.

There is a difference in operating systems from Android based phones to Apple based Iphones. HOWEVER they do the same things.....IE:
The icon to get to your photos on the Android platform is labeled 'GALLERY' on the Iphone... 'PHOTOS'.... both do the exact same thing... allow you to view your pictures... if you get used to one operating system, the other seems odd.

So three things need to be considered.
  1. Which operating system do I prefer, Iphone or Android?
  2. Which carrier has the best deal, and the best coverage for my area?
  3. Which brand has the best reviews, customer service, reliability, etc.?

Smart phones are a combination of many things. Trying to package a lot of things in one space usually means something has to give. If I am trying to put the biggest baddest camera in a phone, maybe I don't have room for the best antennae......

Some are built with 10 degrees, some straight. The most important thing is having adjustment. Look through the builds section there are tons of examples. Visit the parts provider web sites and see what they sell. You'll be able to figure out from there how you want to build yours.
