It appears as though the high side jet had backed out and it was too rich. How can I keep this from happening again? I have double springs and checked everything else but thanks for the help.

View form the top. You can see the flywheel facing the battery with the drive pulley mounted on the flywheel.

Here are the numbers hopefully they will read in the photo.

Shipping from Georgia to Nebraska would probably be high, this sucker has got to be heavy but I'll check on it.

Briggs Flathead / 18 hp horizontal oppossed
« on: February 07, 2010, 12:52:25 am »
I scrounged up a big craftsman mower with a motor that I have never seen before. Its a 18 hp briggs opposssed but its horizontal shaft and has a pulley on the flywheel that drives the trannie and one on the other end that runs the blades.

Is the horizontal oppossed good for anything? anybody use or want one?

how adjustable is the jack shaft from the bottom pulley line to the top pulley line?

In other words is the overall height of the unit adjustable (Bottom pulley to Top pulley)? I'm looking at buying one but I need to know a little about it. I'd hate to buy it and have to space out my transmission and come up off the ground to make the pulleys line up. Or is this even an issue?

how's the scrounging in your area? I usually try and scrounge up all my factory parts and spend my money on the goodies. I try to do all my stuff budget wise and have found a couple mowers with deck problems and most people think they aint worth nothing and will usually settle for me hauling them off or I can get away with them for around 50 bucks. I've come into a couple flats and ohvs and two indian ohvs for less than 100 bucks. I caint scrounge up a dang v twin though. Maybe one day.
