Coffee Shop / What I have... What class to build????
« on: June 24, 2011, 10:44:55 pm »
I am New to the whole racin mower thing. So here is what I have a MTD Chassis with Craftsman tins (Hood Nose and Instrument panel). The entire thing is stock with a 20hp B/S opposed twin non filter model # starts with 46 and a 618-0163B Transaxle. I am currently trying to figure out what class mower I should build. Once I have figured that out I will know what direction to go on the build. I am currently fitting the parts together and just making sure I have everything I need. I know I am going to need to upgrade the entire steering system, I also want to put a 700 series peerless transmission and solid axel as well as upgrade to disk breaks. I have been told that I need to do some upgrades to the motor for better oiling. I also need to reinforce the frame. With all this information I would think it would be easy to figure out what class to build but it is not. Input would be nice. Thanks

George and all the others that have posted on here. It is good to see all the positive posts here. Other Forums that I may be a member of don't have that kind of energy. Yes they all get along but there is not one of them that will respond to a post like this much less keep it alive for the amount of time this one has been around.....It is a wonderful day for sure I am off work and spending the next 3 days with my family...

thanks
