You can get it at a welding supply, or tractor supply @ mytsc.com

Try buggiesunlimited.com , they have every tire size, and from knobbies to slicks,
to even those lame spinners.

usualy if the polarity is backwards, the starter will whine, but not engage., Because it spins back wards, also if it dosent engage there is not enough juice.

have a high-flowing exhaust, make a large air cleaner that will scoop air (so face towards the front). And personnaly, i would not completely remove the governer, i would adjust it untill it what you need.

Another thing to try is place your hand on the screen/cover of the flywheel
and try to turn it over, if it is dificult to do on any other stroke but the compression stroke
something could be wrong.

I agree with allen, also remember that your weakest link is your strongest.
Also keep in mind that unless you have one custom built(#35), Sprockets for a #40 &#41 chain
is more available, because that is what's used on dirtbikes, atv's, and some go karts.

Briggs Flathead / pipes?
« on: May 28, 2007, 10:48:47 pm »
On my 12 HP Briggs i run 1" for about 8 inches, then it goes to 2 1/2"
the rest of the way(about 32"). However when at full throttle, if i quickley
let off down to an iddle, it makes a few loud pops.
Is this because of back pressure, if so can i cut the pipe about 15" back and weld
a 2.5" washer with a 1 1/4 " hole in it, the weld the other half back on?
Also, this it the first time i have ever had this problem, 1-because i never use pipe this large, i only use 1-1.5" on my other racers.
2- Because all my pipes come out in front of the rear wheel, this one comes out behind the front left wheel.
This exhaust was an experiment,  and sounds good idelling.

This is only applicable to flathead engines, and it directs a path for the flame to travel over.

I am assuming that a good Port & Polish is out of the picture?
Is that all the rules, or give us the specifics.

Briggs Flathead / Re: boring help?
« on: May 28, 2007, 10:30:10 pm »
Arc Racing provides this service. When you bore away from the valves you get increased throttle response and a higher top end. However, there is a longer flame travel, however if you bore closer towards the valves you get a better low end. Go to , or call ARCRacing.com
they can better explain this.
I'll be happy to answer anymore questions.

As long as it is strait, go for it.
Also go 0.001 over for the rings and several honings.
