They don't call him "Larry the nice guy" for nothing.

How many RPMs are you turning it?

You can use the center out of a rear wheel. 3/4" bore with keyway the entire length. Drill and tap for setscrews then put a piece of 3/4" shaft in the end of that with a support bearing.

It's a continuous cycle...

Cylinder 1 fires 270 degrees before cylinder 2.
Cylinder 2 fires 450 degrees before cylinder 1.

That's crank degrees.

I had this problem before too.

Make sure none of the bolts are bottoming out.  Shouldn't be a problem on a 30CU but check them.  It's a problem on model 38s.

I took a utility knife and ran it down the center of the mating surface between the pan bolts to give it a little bite into the gasket.  Don't use any sealers on the gasket.

I used wax and grease remover but would think thinner would do it.

Torque the bolts in a cross pattern in steps.

For added insurance I smeared some hi-temp sealer all the way around.

Let it sit and dry good.

Hope this helps

This guy had a brand new Speedway quick release. It clicked on like it's supposed to but...

I will never use a "Quick release" anything on my steering.

Newer style stamped steel will work. Bottom rocker in picture is what you want to use. Been using them over three years now.

Maybe if we get rained out Friday night we can go to Flatrun Sat.

Are there any other V-twins running at Flatrun? Central PA racers?

I think...

18/20 HP is 3.03
23 HP is 3.15
25-30 HP is 3.27

The internals interchange, but not the block itself.

Just to make sure, a vertical crank will work in a horizontal with no mods?

Does anyone have any circle track cam experience that you will share?  What cam and other mods and how did it perform?  I know this is open to interpretation but, if I get 2 or 3 people saying they tried the same cam with similar experience, then it can help me decide on my first cam to try.

Thanks

I made some pieces out of hardwood to get some clamping on the top and bottom.

I suspect the 30 crank shown earlier in this thread is NOT a 692159.  My buddy ordered one from someone else and it came in the original Briggs box and looked just like a 35 crank but with shorter stroke.

Briggs parts website still lets you select 692159 and start checkout.  If this means anything...

Lifters and rockers. Not sure how much work you'll have to do to rockers. Call and talk to Julian.

I don't feel right asking a guy how to avoid buying his parts if ya know what I mean.

I was hoping this thread would get some more technical discussion going.
We are learning you don't have to go big to build big power.

More info to come......

What do you consider big power?
